Michelle Richter was born and raised in Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Russian from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. After more than a decade in the financial services industry, Michelle graduated from Pace University with a Master’s degree in Publishing. Shortly thereafter, she joined St. Martin’s Press, where she acquired and worked on a variety of fiction and nonfiction, including Melissa Explains It All by Melissa Joan Hart.
She decided to move to the agenting side of the industry in 2014 and joined Fuse Literary, where she’s been able to build a list of crime fiction, women’s fiction, and very select nonfiction and young adult fiction. Michelle’s clients have won or been shortlisted for such awards as the Edgar, Mary Higgins Clark, Strand Critics, Anthony, Agatha, Lefty, ITW Thriller, Macavity, Barry, Derringer, Silver Falchion, IPPY, and International Book Award. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, and a former adjunct lecturer in Pace University’s Publishing program.
